Career Group Coaching by the PDC Coaching Staff
Planning one’s career can be empowering, yet daunting if the path is unclear. The Career Planning Small Group will help staff members begin to envision and prepare for the next step in their careers. The group will be limited to eight participants who meets for five consecutive weeks.
Aspiring Leaders Program (ALP)
The Program, is funded by the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, is a unique opportunity to develop a cohort of faculty and staff throughout the academic year.
The Aspiring Leaders Program (ALP) is geared towards tenured faculty who may someday be asked to assume a leadership position (i.e. program director, center director or department chair), and staff with a minimum of five to seven years of professional experience who are new to a leadership role or who have a desire to attain one in the future.
The cohort, including ten faculty and ten staff, meets for six sessions that are offered throughout the academic year. The sessions are created from the application materials that indicate the interests and desired outcomes of the cohort, as well as feedback from chairs and direct supervisors. All sessions are taught by WFU faculty and staff within the Schools of Business, the Communication Department, and Professional Development Center. Participants will also receive up to four individual coaching sessions with a board certified coach.
