In partnership with Parker Career Management Center, student clubs organize onsite visits with companies and recruiters known as “Days on the Job” (DOJs). Over the past three years, UCLA Anderson students have taken three major treks, including the Hong Kong Investment Banking DOJ, the Shanghai and Beijing Management Consulting DOJ and the Miami Latin America DOJ.
In mid-December, in conjunction with the Greater China Business Association, Parker CMC held its annual Greater China DOJ. Due in part to early application deadlines in Hong Kong, a smaller number of students from both the Full-time MBA and FEMBA programs participated in the Greater China DOJ than in prior years. However, the five students who did participate met with Citibank, Barclays, HSBC and Fidelity in Hong Kong; Deloitte, LEK, Bain & Co. and Eli Lilly in Shanghai; and Lenovo and Intel in Beijing. Students were also able to network with alumni in Hong Kong and Shanghai during evening gatherings. As a direct result of the China DOJ and corporate relationship building, Lenovo and Eli Lilly continue to target UCLA Anderson as their top recruiting partner school in the United States.
During the winter quarter, the first-year Latin American students achieved tremendous success during on-campus recruiting and secured impressive internships. As a result, the spring quarter Miami DOJ transitioned into corporate outreach with key representatives from Parker CMC. Over a two-day period, Regina Regazzi, assistant dean of Parker CMC and Qilin He had successful visits with Univision, Novartis, Burger King, HBO Latin America, Citi, Miami Dolphins, SAB Millers and Smart Procure, a tech start-up, and also hosted a dinner to engage local alumni.
With the onboarding of its international program manager and advisor and the launching of the corporate outreach strategy, Parker CMC — in conjunction with the international identity clubs — will continue the momentum and keep growing corporate recruiting partnerships internationally, as well as domestically, during the upcoming academic year.
