Personal social development Level 1
Who is it for?
The NCFE Award and Certificate in Personal and Social Development are ideal to support learners who would like to develop their personal and social skills to prepare them for independence and working life. They will be particularly valuable to anyone who wishes to seek, gain and retain employment, or progress to further learning. They are also relevant for learners with mild learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
These qualifications are designed to help learners recognise a range of skills for their own personal and social development. The programme will introduce the concept of problem solving and help learners to develop skills to enable them to tackle problems in their daily lives. It will also support the development of personal skills to complement learning in other areas, such as vocational training or Functional Skills.

Each unit contains activities and assessments designed to cover the specific learning outcomes.
Course delivery and assessment
Tribal’s materials comprise activity workbooks, which have been produced to suit a variety of delivery methods. Learners will be provided with all necessary workbooks to complete the programme and will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and test their knowledge. The learning materials include an assessment, which allows learners to demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes associated with each unit.
By undertaking this programme, learners will be able to further their own continuous professional development, which may improve their career prospects, or progress on to further qualifications, such as courses in employability skills.
